Today, Airbnb announced the most popular dates for visitors in Dallas in 2017. Drawn by sporting events and holiday weekends, a total of 128,600 guest arrivals were made to the city using Airbnb with visitors coming from all states and 105 countries.
“As more people are discovering the great culture and food scene in Dallas, we’re glad our host community can help welcome them to the city ” said Laura Spanjian, Airbnb Public Policy Director for the Southwest. “And with more than 40 percent of Airbnb guest spending done in the neighborhood in which a guest stays, this drives dollars to businesses in neighborhoods that haven’t traditionally benefited from tourism.”
Using booking data, Airbnb identified the top nights for guest arrivals in Dallas and the event associated with the arrival date.
This illustrates how the Airbnb community creates a dynamic lodging supply that helps cities host an influx of visitors for major events and holiday weekends.
