On May 12, Airbnb hosts traveled to Albany to call for fair and clear rules on home sharing.
They told their elected officials how hosting allows people across the city to earn a little extra money to pay the rent, meet their mortgage, and cover rising bills.
They also spoke about the economic impact Airbnb has on neighborhoods across the five boroughs. In 2014, the Airbnb community generated $1.15 billion in economic activity — including $235 million in the outer boroughs.
As our elected officials continue to debate home sharing, our community of hosts and guests look forward to continuing to work together toward laws that benefit all New Yorkers.
