We were thrilled to partner with Berlin in celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship as part of Europe’s leading interdisciplinary festival Tech Open Air, which took place 13th -15th July. Hosted at the former GDR broadcasting station and in locations across the city, this 3 day event is a cultural and entrepreneurial exchange that brings communities and stellar speakers together to share their experiences of tech, music and science, with Katie Dill, our Director of Experience Design also joining the conversation in this year’s edition.
Now in it’s fifth year, the festival brought together 150+ guest speakers to learn, grow and collaborate in a city that is making its name as the start-up capital of Europe. Tech Open Air founder, Niko Woischnik: “We are excited to have Airbnb on board as our official accommodation partner. I was lucky enough to interview all 3 founders of Airbnb years ago and have since been impressed with their entrepreneurial path!”
Alexander Schwarz, General Manager Airbnb Germany, Austria and Switzerland: “We’re proud to be the official accommodation partner and support homegrown, creative talent across Berlin. Our community is made up of innovative Berliners who have turned their big ideas into brilliant start-ups and helped transform Berlin into the vibrant hub it is today. Our partnership celebrates Berlin’s entrepreneurial communities and builds bridges between bold ideas and bright thinkers from all over the world. Tech Open Air really captures this spirit”.
In addition to the accommodation partnership, Airbnb opened the doors of its #LiveThere Haus to all TOA guests and Airbnb’s Katie Dill shared her learnings on UX Design. Check out Katie in an interview at Tech Open Air Berlin here: Video-Link
