Airbnb’s vision is to make the travel experience more personal, individual and above all more sustainable. Guests should not only feel comfortable when traveling, they should also have the opportunity to live the way locals do. With tips from the host community and Berta Berlin, guests on Airbnb can find out where Berlin’s favorite cafés, restaurants and shops are. In the end, not only those who share their homes benefit from home sharing, but also local businesses run by Berliners.
On a sunny day in June, about 20 Berlin hosts met to take part in Airbnbs “Kiezwalk” in cooperation with Berta Berlin, a dictrict walk in Prenzlauer Berg. They came from Reinickendorf, Pankow and Neukölln. The tour started at Kala Fashion. The owner Kornelia showed the guests her latest collection while everyone could taste her homemade and quite tasty spread.
Culinary delights continued directly at Spooning Cookie Dough, “A Mecca for all those with a sweet tooth”, where sensational raw cookie dough was served. In the colorful shop, delicious ingredients are mixed that evoke childhood memories. A visit is definitely worthwhile for Foodies, because the concept is unique in Berlin.
Quite full and happy she went to Wild Heart Free Soul, where Beyza served delicious tea and presented wonderful Turkish carpets, which she restores and sells herself. The shop is like a little excursion into the fairy tales of 1001 nights. Very cozy and colorful, you can spend a wonderful time here and stock up with beautiful carpets.
The last stop of the Kiezwalk was the PonyHütchen. The shop has specialized in the production of natural cosmetics and together with the owner Lucy, each participant was allowed to put together his own body peeling. Thus a wonderful walk ended in Prenzlauer Berg with happy faces, full bellies and many new impressions of Prenzlauer Berg.
