At the start of the new year, home sharers in Munich and the surrounding area launched the first home sharing club in southern Germany. They are a part of a global movement of home sharers: Hosts across the globe are forming clubs to stand up for fair home sharing rules and build good relationships with their cities and neighbours.
The Home Sharing Club in Munich was launched by five engaged Airbnb hosts – Theresa, Micha, Eva, Clothilde and Toni. Around 50 home sharers from across Munich accepted the invitation and came together to exchange ideas about responsible hosting, the local political situation and challenges regarding home sharing in their city.
Theresa, Micha, Eva, Clothilde und Toni hosted the event at the Social Impact Hub, where Eva gave a presentation about the challenges that home sharers in Munich are confronted with. Hosts then gathered in small groups to share thoughts on how best to make local politicians aware of the positive impacts of home sharing.
The next meet up by the Munich Home Sharing Club will be taking place soon. Until then, anyone interested can reach out to the home sharing club Munich via their Facebook Group.
