Earlier this month, the growing community of hosts on Airbnb met in Tallinn at an evening hosted by the Airbnb Central and Eastern Europe community team.
Along with providing 120 hosts an opportunity to connect, the meet-up was a celebration of the recently announced agreement between Airbnb and the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (ETCB). Given the innovative nature of the voluntary reporting tool, it was only appropriate that the meet-up be held at an equally unique location: the F-Hoone. Located in a 100 year-old industrial complex of Telliskivi, the hub is Estonia’s biggest creative and business centre giving space to community innovation.
Demy, a host on Airbnb shared what the evening meant for her:
“The new voluntary tax reporting option will make Estonian hosts’ life a lot easier. I am extremely grateful that Airbnb managed to arrange the event in Estonia. It was great to see all the local hosts and share the experience of hospitality with them. The evening gave loads of insight about how to reach your best when offering accommodation and find solutions to problems by engaging with other hosts.”
The evening closed with a presentation by the Airbnb team on how home sharing on Airbnb has brought a wealth of benefits to the local economy and the tourism industry in Estonia.
