Following the renovations of Casa d’Artista di Civita di Bagnoregio (Viterbo) and Casa Panitteri (Sicily) Airbnb launches a new listing in Lavenone: Casa Maer. Located within the Bresca province, Casa Maer will further promote an inclusive tourism within the region, and joins the 200 listings in Val Trompia e Val Sabbia already on the platform.
This historical public building in the heart of the small town is a project of the Italian Villages initiative. The initiative is a national project launched by Airbnb, sponsored by The National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) and developed in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MiBACT). It aims to promote small villages and the redevelopment of public buildings.
The project was made possible also thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Cariplo and renowned Italian design brands. The renovations also involved the art of illustrator, Olimpia Zagnoli, who created a mosaic inspired by the yearly migration of amphibians in the Lago d’Idro – The Dance of the Bufo Bufo – along with a local company, Koko Design.
In the spirit of promoting an undiscovered territory to encourage an inclusive and accessible tourism, Casa Maer has been renovated with thought of people with disabilities in mind. The social cooperative COGESS, will use the proceeds to fund projects of social inclusion dedicated to those with disabilities.
Fully renovated and ready to welcome global travellers , Casa Maer can now be booked on Airbnb.
