It’s full steam ahead for home sharing

We started out this year with a bang, and more communities continue to embrace home sharing. Check out the highlights from February, 2016:

  • EUROPEAN UNION: On February 29, the EU Competitiveness Council released recommendations and called for EU policymakers to ensure rules for the collaborative economy are applied consistently and predictably. This comes on the heels of Airbnb joining 46 other collaborative economy players to sign an open letter encouraging EU leaders to unite on a plan for growth for the collaborative economy in Europe.
  • ARIZONA: Airbnb is providing economic benefits to the Grand Canyon State. Last year, 131,000 guests stayed in an Airbnb when they visited Arizona and the average host earned $4,000 in modest but impactful income. In January, Governor Ducey signed an executive order to create the Council on the Sharing Economy. We are excited to work with the Governor and Legislature on fair regulations that will protect and grow home sharing.
