Family owned and operated “Take a Break & I’ll Bake” Cafe & Creperie is a little garden oasis for travelers in Brooklyn. Co-owners — and husband and wife duo — Luis and Faith Osorio, love the diversity of their community and the visitors that frequent their cafe.
“Airbnb brings diversity and a positive vibe to our neighborhood,” the couple explains, “Its users help to advertise our business and make other travelers want to come here the next time they are in Brooklyn.”
Luis and Faith bake and operate their business with family in mind — many baked goods come from old family recipes passed down from Faith’s grandmother. It is her hope that she can share her traditions with New York, and the world.
Operating on a local level, with tons of heart, their community mindset is clear: “If one business succeeds we all succeed. Everyone’s business offers something unique — and more Airbnb customers brings more awareness to the surrounding businesses.” The Osorios even feature Brooklyn-brewed beer on their menu.
The couple have become charming ambassadors of the neighborhood and look forward to growing their business and, in turn, their community.
“I believe home sharing will continue to increase in this neighborhood because it is becoming such a popular area for people to come and visit,” Luis says. “I think using Airbnb is a great way for the rest of the world to get a real experience of what living in New York is really like. I think it’s great!”
