Last July, Airbnb launched a national competition – ‘Maisons de France’ – to promote France’s diverse regions.
Airbnb hosts in France submitted their homes that best represent their region’s identity and history in the hope of being named one of the ‘Maisons de France’ ambassadors. From timbered farmhouses in Normandy to troglodytes homes in the Loire Valley and chalets in mountainous areas, French houses reflect the great cultural diversity of the regions in France.
Last September, a panel composed of heritage and tourism personalities reviewed nominations and the public then voted to pick their regional champions.
By showcasing the French regions’ cultural heritage, we hope guests will discover the rich diversity of France and its regions and experience what it means to truly belong anywhere.
