Why did you choose to share your home?
I first discovered Airbnb as a traveller and I immediately loved the authentic experience. A friend who recognised my creativity when it comes to interior design advised me to register with Airbnb, but this time as a host. Obviously this has provided me with a small additional income, but there’s more to it than that. I love offering a different way of travelling. I like to think that I am the only one to offer a welcome like mine.
Why do you love sharing?
I enjoy sharing my home as I love talking to people; it’s so fulfilling. Airbnb gives me a gateway to the world. It also proves that people can meet and trust each other in a somewhat mistrusting society. I also love sharing my environment with people I don’t know. Travelling like this requires true open-mindedness. It’s almost a philosophy.
What local gem do you recommend to your guests?
I give guests advice on the essential places to visit in Brussels such as the flea market at Place du Jeu de Balle. I also advise them to go to the market at Place Van-Meenen and the Bio des Tanneurs market.
