La Semana del Anfitrión or “Week of the Host” was a week-long series of events celebrating the host community in México City.
The Airbnb Team shared the founding story of the company, what our international home-sharing communities look like, and discussed a vision for the future of the Mexico City Host Club. This event was held in CASA Q, which is owned by an Airbnb host. Hosts from throughout Mexico City came to support the recent opening of the restaurant and to meet other hosts.
Hosts also came together to address some of their most pressing questions and received training on how to access Airbnb’s resolution center. The next day, hosts were joined by two seasoned members who shared advice on how to improve their listing through photography and interior design. Hosts gained valuable insights and scheduled one-on-one sessions to visit each other’s listings.
During the weekend, Airbnb collaborated with a local design and architecture non-profit, Archivo, to do a merchant and design studio walk in San Miguel Chapultepec. This was held during Design Week, which is a city-wide celebration and design installation in Mexico City. The neighborhood walk ended at Cafe Zena — a host-owned cafe!
Although México City experienced some storms on the final day of the Semana del Anfitrión, we ended the week with a community engagement conversation near Parque México to discuss the future of Airbnb in México City.
Our Airbnb hosts in Mexico City are excited to continue engaging in the community and growing the club’s presence. This is the first of many events to come!
