May 9, 2018 is a designated “Day of Action” to support the principles of openness and non-discrimination that currently govern the internet. These principles, codified as federal law by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), are also known as “net neutrality.”
On December 14th, the US Federal Communications Commission voted to roll back net neutrality protections. Airbnb opposed the decision and is now participating in today’s Day of Action to advocate for reversal of the measure.
Airbnb supports a free and open internet. Net neutrality rules have been working and these consumer protections should not be rolled back. On this Day of Action, we are proud to join with others in advocating for reversal of the FCC’s decision to remove Net Neutrality protections.
To learn more about the importance of keeping our current net neutrality regulations in place, or to urge Congress to overturn to the FCC‘s decision to roll back net neutrality rules, visit the Internet Association’s dedicated website (please note that Airbnb does not manage or retain any information in connection to this Internet Association’s dedicated website).
