Hosts in Edinburgh open their doors for the Festival Fringe

Each year, the Festival Fringe attracts approximately 4.5 million people to Edinburgh during the month of August1. With tourism spikes like these, guests often find that many traditional accommodation options are booked up, or see their prices inflated which is why Airbnb is such a great alternative.

For budget-conscious guests who, in this case, might include performers or spectators travelling from around the world to participate, Airbnb helps them better afford their trips. But it’s not just the guests benefitting, Scotland is as well. In 2016, hosts and guests generated an estimated £499M in economic activity by using Airbnb.

We caught up with some local hosts in Edinburgh to talk about the Festival Fringe and some of their experiences in festivals past.

Take a look.
